Boxingscene writer, Lyle Fitzsimmons, seems to think so:
I see Jones-Pavlik being a back and forth fight until Pavlik overwhelmed RJ with activity and power. RJJ has to lay on the ropes for long stretches at a time because his legs can't withstand being on the move for more than a minute of a round.
And his own last five years have been only marginally better than Jones’s, featuring a 3-3 record to Roy’s 5-4, a far less-watchable loss to Calzaghe and a win over Kelly Pavlik that Jones could probably have matched had gotten to the robotic Ohioan first.
