Yes because they usually are poster boys for the 7 sins.

    I think it is foolish

That goes both ways. All I know is that I am happy

All I know is that I give to charity and help people. Simple yet a lot o no religious people do not do

I think it's a kick that Yuri Foreman is studying to be a Rabbi. Just adds to his story.

BTW, have any of ya'll heard that Chris Rock bit at the end of the "Bigger and Blacker" album where it's a boxing match and the guy thanks God and then the other cat starts talking and talks about God coming in there and smacking him around? That was some funny stuff.

i do not ask god and pray for victory though. because i think if i am asking god for victory it is same thing as asking god to make sure my opponent loses and god does not operate that way. i ask god for guidance and protection. i ask him to look over me as i compete and to continue to give me the chance to tell anyone who will listen how great my god is.

              peace and god bless

i have no problem when roy or floyd just say "first of id like to thank God for this victory".. thats important to them so why not let em do it?

but it is annoying when guys like holyfield do nothing but talk about God after a fight. as a fan you want to hear something other than "it was Gods will" over and over. ofcourse theres freedom of speech but it just makes for very boring and completely pointless interviews.

I don't agree with it, but it's their belief, and helps them, so they can say whatever they want.

No, why? If religion is a big part of their life and has helped them to get where they are why should they not thank God for their success?

I agree with those who say that the fighter should be able to thank who ever they want.
Taking away the right for the fighters to thank god is beyond ******.
