Top 3 dirtiest fighter of all time?.

As far as I can remember I only know Sandy Saddler as the dirtiest boxer ever.Do you know other dirty fighters.

Margarito was not proven as of yet.

lol @ ward even being mentioned. He whooped kessler for 8 rounds before a headbutt even occured.

As for the thread topic, no modern day fighter should even be mentioned, as guys in the early 1900's would put guys like bernard hopkins to shame

Mysterious Billy Smith lost over 10 fights due to DQs.

Sandy Saddler, Battling Nelson, Harry Greb, and Fritzie Zivic are some old-time fighters notorious for being dirty.

Among more recent times, Andrew Golota, Eusebio Pedroza, Freddie Norwood, Mike Tyson, Joel Casamayor, and Bernard Hopkins are all pretty dirty.

Golota bit Samson Po'uha, low-blowed Rid**** Bowe repeatedly, blatantly headbutted Donnell Nicholson, and had that foulfest with John Ruiz (another guy who likes to bend the rules). People often cry about fouls and dirty tactics (such as the recent Ward-Kessler fight). I rarely do, because I've seen so many fights and come to expect that fighters will bend the rules and have their illegal tactics they use. Even I think that Pedroza should've been DQ'd against Juan Laporte. He hit him low repeatedly, elbowed him numerous times, hit him in the back, etc...Early in the fight the ref warned him for low blows. His next move right after the warning? A shot to the thigh. Late in the fight, he gets warned for forearms/elbows. It only took about 10 seconds for him to throw another blatant elbow to LaPorte's face.

Somehow, Freddie Norwood was not DQ'd when he fought Derrick Gainer. This was not subtle like some of the stuff Roberto Duran did, or the "intentional accidental headbutt" used by Evander Holyfield. He all but picked Gainer up and threw him down, hit him in the kidneys and groin numerous times, but Paul Sita was real incompetent as the ref this night. Fortunately, Gainer got the win, by the strangest of circumstances. He hit Norwood twice in the groin as Sita was pulling Norwood off of him (after more of Norwood's low blows). For some reason, Sita gave Norwood a 20 count, and Norwood "made no attempt to get up", so Gainer won.

Tyson earlier in his career started off with the more traditional elbows/forearms, and hits after the bell, but raised his foul game to new heights after prison. Biting Holyfield twice, apparently biting Kevin McBride as well, headbutting McBride and Golota, twisting the arms of Botha and Holyfield.
