Official Comments Thread For: Roy Jones Jr. Thinks Danny Green Win Will Make History

On December 2 in Australia, Roy Jones Jr. will look to pull off a history making win when he takes on Danny Green for the IBO cruiserweight title at Acer Arena. Jones has won titles at middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight. Jones has never fought or won any titles at cruiserweight. Jones says a win over Green will count as his fifth world title in his fifth weight division. Historians and critics will argue over that fact. Green is not the best fighter at cruiser and the IBO is still behind, recognition wise, the WBC, WBO, IBF and WBA. [Click Here To Read More]

DAVID DIAZ a guy who smashed ZAB JUDAH in amateurs?

And a guy who smashed SANTA CRUZ for WBC belt?

First ROY JONES has no chance against DANNY GREEN and second this belt is garbage.

I think its more of a question whether the IBO should be counted on the same level as the WBC. Pacquiao's win over Hatton counts as a title win not because of the IBO title Hatton owned but his linear status at 140.

ya i can definitely see where youre coming from with the recognition of belts and the status that they hold (WBC being the most prestigious) but a recognized world title is just that a recognized world title...and just because someone holds a WBC belt doesnt mean that they are the best in that division(which is what i think you were getting at correct me if im wrong) but it would still be pretty damn impressive if jones could pull this one off...while i dont know too much about green im still pullin for jones on this one and think he can pull it off with his boxing skill

ANYONE CARE TO PLACE A WAGER ON IT? say 4 K?

I agree with Poppa, the IBO is a minor world title not really considered with the WBC's and IBF's but its a world title all the same in my book. Theres no difference from, like stated above, Diaz wearin a green WBC belt and and Green wearin the IBO....paperchamps maybe, titlist yes. Roy's got something to prove....I think yall musta forgot

I think if Roy wins this it wll be a good win for him regardless of the nonsence belt up for grabs. Green is a good fight at this stage of Roy's career.
