Pacman vs Mayweather - a big factor to consider

since pacaquio last fought marquez to a razor split decision victory (i still maintain pac struggled to make weight for 130 etc etc)

he has fought left handed happy fighters!!!

    diaz
    hatton
    de la hoya
    cotto

all left handed with under developed right hands

my question to you guys is, has roach conviently kept him away from fighters who had good straight right hands like morales and marquez for example!!

many so called boxing experts have said the left hook and straight right are as good as each other for attacking a south paw but i always think the straight right is the best weapon

now dont get me wrong pacman has improved now he is not burning weight and is quick and hitting harder than ever!!! and has improved but i can see mayweather being able to time pacaquio with the straight right which is one of floyds best punches

    any thoughts would be great

Nah, Cotto has a very good right hand, especially upstairs. It could even be argued that the straight right hand upstairs is better than the left hook to the head, Pacquiao took the right hand away from him. So no, I don't think Roach has maneuvered him away from more right hand dependent fighters.

but what is cottos main weapon, the left hook to the body and left hook to the head OR the straight right hand that cotto possesses!!!

i think we both know what the answer is, cotto is like de la hoya in that he has a decent right hand but its nothing like the left hand he possesses

Yeah, his right hand is not as sharp as the left, but it isn't bad by any means.

It looked fine against the likes of Sugar Shane. Put it this way, I think it packs more pop than Marquez' right hand.

That may be so but his right hand is still a very good punch, he's proven it in the past.

It certainly appears to be the case if one reviews Pac's past fights. I think, perhaps, it is due to Pac's constant movement that prevents him from being set up for and getting tagged often by the rights.

Freddie may be well aware that Pac is susceptible to the right hands and has tweaked Pacs footwork so that Pac is often out of range making his opponent hesitate to throw the right for fear of being countered.

Saying all that, there's a high probability that Floyd may be able to connect with his right with frequency if he is able to keep Manny within range as the fight progresses.

Mayweather's got a quality straight right .The Hatton fight he was heavy snapping his head back .Hatton was tough in that fight .Kept going forward after getting nailed with straight rights .It is shots and punishment like that that ruins fighters
