Well he's going to need to beat more than Andrade and Bika to prove that. But he is definitely a dangerous combination of speed, movement, power and southpaw stance.

Hard to say who's the best now though. Kessler hadn't had a decent win in over 2 1/2 years, so it can't be Ward. Abraham only has the win over Taylor, who'd just been beaten by Froch. Froch's win over Dirrell was pretty controversial.

I guess it's between Froch, Bute and Ward, though Abraham has a good chance to beat all three HU.

Ward's still way behind, and he's never beat a contender impressively like Bute beat Andrade and Abraham beat Miranda. As well, Ward has to cheat to win.

I was never that big on Bute before. I mean he always had skill, but his last fight with Andrade made me question his durability and made me think he was only a frontrunner.

Tonight he was incredibly sound all the way around.

He has knocked out two granite chinned fighters this year and seems to be getting better. Perhaps the first Andrade fight just woke him up.

Calling Bute the best SM in the World is too much at this point. The point of the tourney is to prove who is the best and with Bute doing what he just did...he'll have his chance down the road to face the winner of the SMW Tourney.

I think Bute is a very good fighter that should end up facing someone like Ward if Ward does end up winning this thing which I wouldn't hold my breath because I'm still backing A.A.
One thing I noticed about Bute that Ward might not get away with is leading in with his head or just plain lunging in. With Bute, he would pull back and then counter with a short-fast-hard shot...and he can do it with either hand but the right would be the better option given he is a S.P.

Taylor should not have made this tourney by the way...Bute should have been in it.

I wonder what is going to happen though with Bute and the SMW division given the other fighters are on Showtime.
I wonder if he would go for the LH title.

Good post, Bute's offensive arsenal, Power (Which Ward seriosly lacks) and footwork are what make me favour him in a h2h match. All Ward's best attributes are matched or superceeded by Bute. He wouldn't be able to implement his tactics on Bute.

And for chins while Bute's isn't granit he has fought Bika, Berrio and Andrade 2x and was only dropped once, exhaustion being a factor. He has proved that his chin is sturdy.

Much better chin than Ward and serious power (the Berrio KO was absolutely savage) those along with equal handspeed and Bute's footwork/southpaw decide the fight.

Bute is one of my favorite fighters.

I also live in Canada. Me and Bute were both born in Eastern Europe and moved to Canada.

If Bute would have lost tonight you would have said that he was a bum or something like that. I've seen you go in the past, your racism fuels your interest for boxing. Tonight you didn't see a romanian guy who moved to montreal hoping to make it big in boxing get a great victory. The only thing your simple mind saw was a white guy who beat a non-white guy and that made you happy.

I don't like you but i still feel pitty for you, hopefully one day you get past that white supremacy bull**** and enjoy the sport of boxing for what it is.





That being said, i don't think he is the best super middleweight in the world. One of the best for sure but i hope to see him fight some of the guys that are currently in the super six tournament. I think he has a good chance against all of them, however i'd be worried if he was to get in the ring with Abraham. I'd still root for him though.

he's definitely better ranked than ward, although he's much, much worse

when ward stacks up some defenses, then he'll be ranked higher for sure. he and abraham are the best candidates for winning the tournament, that's for sure
