first knockdown was a very nice shot. the position of the shot that KO'd Andrade was more luck then skill. good for Bute that it didn't go into deep waters. he needed to do that to win.

It wasn't luck. He KOed Zuniga in his last fight with a similar punch...

I must say that i am already a fan of Bute and i have seen a lot of his fights. I was rooting for him tonight but i thought he would either win a decision or get knocked out. Never in a million years i would have thought that Bute could knock out Andrade.


I had some people over who aren't really boxing fans and i was telling them that Andrade was a human tank and that Bute had to fight very carefully in order to win.

When he landed that short left and dropped Andrade i let out a huge "Whatttttttttttttt?!?"

More luck than skills ? I don't think so. Bute has stopped his last opponent thanks to the exact same body shot from which he couldn't recover. Bute has stopped other opponents earlier in his career with body shots. He happens to be a good body puncher, period.

Bull****. You wouldn't have said that before the Kessler fight. Ward is still too wild sometimes, and he could get ko'ed just like Andrade. Dawson is a ****ing lightheavy so...

I think Bute would beat Kessler, but why is everybody automatically picking him as the best Super Middle out there? Andrade is a C-level fighter at best. I didn't get all that excited about this fight because I knew that Bute would wax Andrade in a lop-sided performance. I didn't expect him to KO the dude though. Props for that because Andrade was supposed to have an iron chin. It's been a while since I've read the main story, and it said that Bute knocked him down twice. Once with the head shot of where Andrade fell on his face and then the second knockdown was on a body shot.

Excellent showing for Bute, the guys is definitely legit at SMW. I would go as far as to rank him in the top spot, but the man is has proven himself now. Andrade is tough as nails, I always like watching him. Hopefully he finds a way to bounce back from this.

But for now, it's irrelevant to put him in the mix because he hasn't made any move. I hope he stays at lightheavy cause he's the best at that weight (not Hopkins) and it would hurt that division if he went down. I'm looking forward to Dawson vs the winner of Diaconu-Pascal.
