First of all, Ali was not exciting to watch, he was a loud mouth disrespectful bastard, and was pretty much hated by America, nobody called him "the greatest" he was the mayweather of that time, people called him a coward for facing smaller men than him, and for fighting guys with limited skills, he only fought a coule hard fights.

Bottom line:

Muhammad Ali fought and beat EVERYBODY. Not some of the best, not most of the best, EVERY RELEVANT HEAVYWEIGHT in the 60's and 70's fought and was beaten at least once by Muhammad Ali. No possible way you can disrespect that.
