    Question about Sergio Martinez

Alright. I have a question. As you know Vernon Forrest was stripped of his WBC Junior Middleweight Belt back in May. Which was some BS. WBC gave Sergio Martinez that belt. Why isn't Sergio Martinez putting the WBC belt on the line against Paul Williams? Is this fight a non-title fight?

no offense to vernon R.I.P. but, he was holding the title hostage and Martinez was the mandatory. VErnon pretty much refused to fight Sergio, plus the Martinez-Williams fight is going to be at 160.

Vernon was injured. He had a rib injury. I don't think he was holding the belt hostage because Vernon won't fight unless he's 100% healthy. Alright that answers my question. You can't put a 154 belt on the line if a fight is at 160.

I get confused between these 154 Sergios. I keep thinking Forrest faced Sergio Martinez, but it was Sergio Mora...

        Grrr.

Then again, I reckon Vernon Forrest and Verno Phillips should fought. For obvious reasons.

... Yeah, I've got a thing about similar names.

RIP Vernon but honestly try finding southpaws on his record.

He avoided them like the plague.

That was always a knock on him and Martinez was a southpaw.

So it always looks fishy when he was out for an extended period of time when the main challenger was a lefty.

Wasn't the fight between Vernon and Sergio Martinez scheduled for August 1st? That was a bad day when it arrived.
