It wasn't the same Roy that fans grew up watching, and unfortunately RJ may be in for a similar beating against Hopkins. The guy never got his legs back after moving back down to 175 from heavyweight.

Roy Jones Jr was 40 years old and totally shot, he was only a shell of his former self. That win doesn't mean more than Trevor Berbick's win over Muhammad Ali.

I was actually hurt as well when watching Roy being outclassed at his own game. What gave me a little comfort was the Knockdown in the first round. At least he gave us a last round of his elite years worth remembering.

why do you keep making that comparison ??
Your not very bright are you??
Berbick was 27 yrs when he beat an Ali who was 42 yrs..that was a 15 year age gap
Calzaghe was 36 yrs when he fought Jones who was not yet 39 years old ...that wasnt a 3 year age gap !
I wonder what diseased prick you dripped off the end of ???
Your a fcuking idiot who cant even add up correctly lol

              Calzaghe was in his prime.

Roy jones Jr was totally shot.

age doesn't have anything to do with it. Fighters peak at different times. for example Mike Tyson was past prime before he hit 30 and was shot when he fought Lennox Lewis. and Lennox Lewis is older than tyson.

That was the first time Roy was cut, they had no experience in how to stop the blood and that made a lot of difference in the fight I think. Calzaghe would have probably still won against that version of Roy but it might have been a much closer fight if they had an experienced cut man.

Calzaghe only has 2 good wins, Lacy and Kessler, but according to some people on here he's ATG.

Slaps aren't enough to put you very high on ATG list. Calzaghe is good, but not great. Anyone who says otherwise should just stop watching boxing.

funny - I thought he beat Hopkins...but anyway, the win over roy means little, probably at highest calzaghe's 6th best win after

                    Hopkins
                    Kessler
                    Eubank
                    Lacy
                    Reid
