Just watched roy jones getting knocked down for the first time

The first guy to ever drop him was Lou Del Valle. It was a straight left(Lou was a southpaw),..really beautiful shot

I've trained with Lou before btw about a year ago. He used to train at my old gym in Morris Park Boxing Club in the Bronx. He was getting in shape for a comeback and he had a few guys who he trained in there..Really great guy and he had a very unique style. That's probably why he dropped Jones, because his style was very complicated and unpredictable and I don't think Jones was expecting the right-left shot.

Lou Del Valle used to be Roy's old sparring partner by the way, so he kind of had an idea how to fight Jones and how to give him problems

did'nt seem too hurt, he was fighting, but lou started bullrushing him so he just grabbed onto him instead of wasting energy

funny thing is, against calzaghe after jones knocked him down, joe's wife put her hands in the praying position and roy did'nt win around after that
here, whilst entering round 8(when the knockdown occured) lou also did the whole cross thing

I don't think it was that bad, Jones' back leg was also slipping on the canvas when he got him with the shot but without the shot, he probably wouldn't have gone down.

I think he admited that he was in fact hurt after the fight. He also said that he should have never fought Lou because that was his old sparring partner and friend
