    Holyfield: And Another Thing...

In watching the broadcast of the recent Winky Wright-Shane Mosley contest, HBO showed highlights from the recent heavyweight card that featured wins by Chris Byrd, "Rock" Rahman and John Ruiz. It also showed highlights of Larry Donald's one sided decision victory over Evander Holyfield. This fight prompted the NYSAC to level an indefinite suspension on Holyfield. HBO commentators Larry Merchant and Roy Jones Jr. praised the action of the commission. I'm not so sure. [details]

    I dunno.

Evander may not be capable of winning a big fight any more...but he's still in better shape than many fighters around.

Lots of guys would lose three in a row to Donald, Toney and Byrd...should they be banned to?

Holy is not really in any danger yet is he? He's just not as fast as he used to be.

I'm glad the NYSAC did something everyone and anyone was afraid to do. Thumbs up to the NYSAC.

There actions are terrible there are fighters around that risk more than Holyfield does at the moment but are not as high profile so therefore are not worth bothering about it would seem. This is publicity type bull.

              The Eyes

Anyone who watched Evander's ringwalk into the Garden on the 13th knew that he was finished. He had a lost gaze, rather than his usual menacing scowl. The eyes tell the story, and if you don't believe me, watch Kevin Kelley's ringwalk vs. Barrera, or Vinny Pazienza's vs. Jones, and heck Jones' vs. Glen Johnson. The eyes tell the story every time. - SacTown1

Holy is not only a great fighter, but great man and even better role model. I have immense respect for Holy, but am sitting on the fence if he should continue, some days yes, some days no.

It's sad, nobody wants to see Holyfield get hurt, but he should consider stopping, I mean he just isn't competitive anymore, hes a legend in fighting, but he should know when it's time to stop.
