  • The Heavyweight Division Muddle

The various Don King Heavyweight champions are now beginning their own version of a fight off. James Toney is fighting John Ruiz and Lamon Brewster is tackling Andrew Golota. While Chris Byrd and Vitali Klitschko watch from the sidelines, these four steps in the ring in what should further muddle the Heavyweight title further. When the smoke clears, there will still be four champions but then what else is new?

I like James Toney as a fighter for he is one of the best of this generation, but his fame as a Heavyweight is based on his victory over a long past his prime Holyfield. Since Holyfield, he has recovered from two serious injuries and found time to plaster Rydell Booker.

I have seen titles similar to this so many times I begin to wonder if we will ever see an article titled.

Heavyweight division picture now clear. Or, One Champ, or, Undisputed Chammpion is, or anything along those lines.

ya right, what else is new? no real champ, everybody else is a pretender. there is no more movement within that division and its stagnation will not end unless these "champs" face each other.

Brewster strategy consists of sticking his head in the way of his opponent’s punches. Brewster is not the most skilled fighter but he is blessed with one of boxing’s hardest heads hahaha

        good breakdown

Of course we will. You just have to look at things from a more extended perspective. It was not too long ago that we had a dominant champion in Lennox. It will happen again but none of the guys around now are "That Guy". Just enjoy the individual fights and recognize em for what they are ... the pre-lims before the next big thing shows up.

          Still should be entertaining.
