So is Calzaghe gonna give us some kind of explanation of why Kessler lost to Ward?

But in 10's or more other posts you practically say he's garbage, while he could have stayed home defending a belt like Ottke or Joe (or Jones) you ridicule more than acknowledge his willingness to test himself against the best the division has to offer.

I've never said Kessler was protected. But most people say he's not that good and he had yet to step in the ring with an A level opponent. And when he finally did, he got beat. That's not hate. It's just keeping it 100.

        and let me add...

Super Middleweight was/is a safehouse wasteland designed to favor the lacking.

        Nothin' but The Truth...

This division was established to give lesser Boxing countries/regions a chance at having a champion....

because the most skilled fighters and strongest competition always made/will make their home at either Middle or Light Heavy....

If you don't know the history of Super Middle or its champions, look it up....it officially came into existence in 1984....the educated, objective fans will see I'm just tellin' it like it is....

You can say Benn, Eubank, Watson, Collins, Ottke, Calzaghe or whoever all you want....they had their moments.....but when it's all said and done....it don't matter...they weren't the best of the best....why?

because they chose to fight at 168.

But that's a faulty post. If Kessler had beaten Ward he wouldn't have been an A-level opponent in the first place. That win would rank below his win over Mundine for sure.

I know the idiot hater contingent will find this hard to grasp, but I very much doubt Calzaghe gives a ****.

What you're saying is probably right where some people are concerned. But if Kessler would've beaten Ward, he would've got all the credit in the world from me. It's just that I picked Kessler thinking that his power would carry the day even if he got outboxed in the fight. Now that we saw that he couldn't even put a dent in Ward's chin with what little punches he landed, it calls his power into question in my view because a lot of people think Ward has a weak chin. And I guess my last post looked faulty to you because I said that Kessler wasn't protected and at the same time said he didn't have an elite fighter on his resume. By me saying he is not protected meant that he beat some decent fighters like Lucas and Andrade and traveled outside of Denmark several times. It didn't mean that I said he had faced a crafty boxer that was fresh up to that point.

Well Kessler was a major dissapointment in that fight that's for sure.

PS: And Ward is a dirty fighter.

I'm not a big fan of Ward's style either, but he is a pain in the ass for anyone to fight because of his speed, movement, and decent power.

Well at least he's a pain in the ass for a fighter moving recklessly in straight lines.

                    • Calzaghe should have fought Pavlik. I thought that was an easy fight even before Hopkins beat Pavlik. If Calzaghe would have beaten Pavlik he would have gotten a lot more credit than Hopkins and the critics wouldn't have much to say.

Instead he fights Roy Jones Jr and gets a lot less credit that he would've gotten for beating the younger hyped-up Pavlik, Hopkins beats Pavlik and gets praised like hell, Calzaghe retires, Ward has an easy night with Calzaghe's best win, and now Calzaghe's resume looks more ordinary than legendary.
