If the first fight is close, maybe even twice then. I mean imagine Mosley at 147 fight Mayweather, Pac and Cotto again. Imagine Mayweather at 147 figthing Pac, Mosley and Cotto. Imagine Cotto at 147 figthing Mayweather, Pac (at full strength), and Mosley again. And of course, Pac fighting all those guys at 147. That would give boxing 2-3 of its best years with all 4figthers making enoughmoney to be satisfied. The biggest obstacle: Convincing Floyd that a loss against an elite welterweight is nothing to be ashamed of if you're beating the other guys. Both Arum and Golden Boy would have a piece of these fights so everybody would be happy. Williams can clean out 154 and 160. Or if Mayweather retires, you substitute him for PWill.

Would be just great, say wasn't it the "small" guy who really came out on the short end of the nice stick ? Yes Ol Duran !!

Duran Came up in weight, he was devastating in the lightweight class and whipped Leonard in that first fight, tough fighters, Quit in the second fight, and one of the greatest KO's came from the hands of Hearns on the jaw of Duran , third round, landed flat on his face !!!!!!

Little guys came up in weight, too soft, not carrying their punch or speed and get massacred !!!

But along comes one every 80 years LOL and we have him today named Manny Pacquiao and many hate him, when they ought to enjoy him.

Mosley blatantly turning down Paul Williams the way he did and not fighting earlier this year is the very reason he's not on Pacquiao or Mayweather's radar this year. They are just throwing Mosley's name out there for negotiating leverage. If Mosley would've accepted Paul's challenge and fight him in October, his schedule would be free in 2010 and he would have more of a chance of landing a fight with Manny or Floyd. Instead, he's fighting some prospect who won a vacant belt who a lot of people view as a hype job. I like Mosley, but it is what it is.

I presented this argument to somebody and they claimed that if Mosley beat Paul Williams it would actually decrease his chances of getting a fight with Floyd or Pacquiao. I suppose there may be truth to that because nobody looked his way after the way Mosley destroyed Margarito.

To be fair to Mosley though, Paul Williams hasn't made 147 in a long ass time. And Williams had already had three fights above that division when he offered to fight Mosley. But Shane probably could've moved up to 154 and fought him. However Mosley didn't entertain that thought because he knew he'd be in for a long night.

After Mosley beats Berto, I want Pacquiao to fight him. That way we can see who really is the biggest threat to Floyd and put an end to this debate.

So why would you support a fighter that didn't grant another figher a fight in the past on 2 occasion?
Why don't he ever mention Paul William's name? Why didn't he accept Mayweahter's challenge on 2 occasions in the past? Why would he fight DeLaHoya on steriods? Mosley is full of crook to me. I used to like and admire him before the steroids and lies came about. The lies are Floyd is scared of me, when in fact Floyd asked for it twice! The lies continued to pile when he continued to say that every welterweight was scared of him, when in fact Paul Williams literally begged him for a fight and he turned him down. Joshue Clottey and even Zab Judah was willing to fight Mosley, but for some unknown reason the fight with Clottey was cancelled and the fight with Zab was cancelled because Judah got injured. No one is afraid of Mosley; Shane is not a drawing card and don't produce money so all the elite fighters are going after money...
                Its all about MONEY !!

Mosley doesn't need to fight Cotto again unless Cotto redeems himself. Cotto is a non factor now. Mosley is right. It's a step backwards at least now.
