Juanma Expects a Tough Fight With Steven Luevano

Juan Manuel Lopez is expecting a very tough fight when he moves up to featherweight to face WBO champion Steven Luevano on January 23. Luevano feels that Juanma's camp is underestimating him but the Puerto Rican fighter appears to be taking the fight very seriously. [details]

Good! Juanma must make a statement against Luevano and knock his ass out.

Good thing that juanma stepped up to 126, he had a very difficult time to make 122.it's also good thing he named Gamboa name out thur.he needs to take one fight at a time before another Rogers fight expierence happens to where he was taken to the depths.he needs to dominate in January to keep the gamboa fight in sight instead of in the rear view..

I think Juanma needed that Rogers fight, but to a certain extent. There is always someone out there who has your number, but Juanma should learn from his mistakes and probably be better than ever now.

i am not a fan of the two but watching their last fights, i give juanma the edge. juanma barely survived mtagwa but luevano got to his acting prowess to get concepcion disquaified.

luevano knew that he cannot survive one more round with concepcion so he resorted to his acting ability when concepcion accidentally hit him in the groin.

i don't think he can get another acting award with lopez.

Its about time JuanMa puts some big names on his record and Luevano is a good start.

Juanma will win this imo, but i was not impressed with his performance against Mtagwa and he didn't face Caballero at 122 either. He seems to get a bit carried away with his power and when he meets someone who can take his power then he doesn't know what to do and starts to throw big wide shots. His stamina takes a hit because of all these big shots and he nearly got stopped by Mtagwa in the last round.

I still fancy him to beat Gamboa, but that's mainly because i'm not sold on Gamboa's chin yet, it looks a bit fragile.

Luevano has gone as far as he is going to go imo, that is his level. Lopez has the ability/potential to establish himself as one of elite fighters in Boxing over the coming years, that is why im picking Lopez, more talent.

Good to hear that Juanma is focus. He needed that Mtagwa fight to stop falling in love with is power, in his early days as a pro and in his ama fights he was a good boxer, he moved from side to side snaped peoples head with his jab and counter very effectively. If he goes ack to his roots he will be OK. He needs to use his jab to set his stuff up and pick up his defense.

Luevano is a very very good boxers, unfortunatly he is overmatched in every category here, except maybe timming. Juanma is just stronger, more powerfull and faster!!

Notice of how he doesn't even mention Caballero's name. I'm suprised he even mentioned Gamboa's to be honest. Juan Ma is a hype job and it showed in his last fight.
