Sturm. I love JCC, and he is the greatest Mexican fighter of all time. He is a proud man, great fighter, great fan favorite. SRR was a ruthless, fast, powerpunching pimp who would knock any man out in their primes. There is no question SRR would win this fight. JCC was too 1 dimmensional to cause him any kind of trouble whatsoever.

JCC was a much smaller man

he started at 130lbs. at the beginning of his reign of 140 he was in balanced shape but then he was more bulky than in shape. He never really obtained success at welterweight and was flabby at that weight to boot.

Look at what Robinson did to Lamotta.

JCC would have received a monumental beating.

a better question would be "in their respective primes, and if they were the same weight, who would win?"

My answer:

While I haven't seen a lot of Ray's fights I know enough to know that he was a great champion and a relentless fighter with a combination of good movement, power, and speed. When it comes to Julio, us younger cats know, he was a very intelegent fighter, who knows how to move around in the ring and knows how to cut off the ring excellently. Both fighters can take a hit and both have the ability to end the fight with one punch.

My prediction:

I think Ray would win this one by decision.
