Robert Stieglitz-Edison Miranda in Play; Brewster Out

WBO super middleweights champ Robert Stieglitz defends the title January 9 in Magdeburg. Opponent is not announced but Colombian website boxeocolombiano.org writes that it could be no other than Edison Miranda, famous in Germany after his two showdowns against Arthur Abraham, in the other corner. Miranda is now with Goossen Tutor. There have been no comments from SES who promotes the show in Magdeburg nor from Goossen Tutor. [details]

Miranda has a similar style to Andrade if memory serves, and Librado TKO'ed Stieglitz, so I got Edison by late stoppage if it happens.

It would be surreal if Edison got the WBO trinket and Librado got the IBF belt. Don't see both scenarios happening at the same time, but if they did, Andre Ward would have a much easier time collecting the belts.

Miranda could prob pick up this belt, Bute would take it off him (provided he gets past Andrade) and then we'd have the winners of Miranda-Bute/Andrade against the winner of the super 6 for a full unification.

A deal is almost done for power puncher/trash-talker Edison Miranda to go to Magdeburg, Germany, to challenge super middleweight titlist Robert Stieglitz on Jan. 9. "We're pretty close to a deal," said Leon Margules, the Warriors Boxing chief and Miranda's co-promoter.
Miranda is no stranger to Germany. That's where he lost a controversial decision to then-middleweight titlist Arthur Abraham in their first fight.

I think Miranda would win, Steiglitz is not really that good and has an aggressive style but not great power........after that maybe Green can rematch Miranda who while not cancerous should easily beat maybe ko Miranda.

A winnable fight for Miranda IMO. Stieglitz is there to be hit. But he's a tough SOB. Pantera must cut down on the rough stuff however.

Miranda's a bad style match-up for Stieglitz, since he's not a good technical defensive fighter, nor does he have Abraham's power.

He'd have a better chance against a more skillful, but lighter puncher.
