Do The Super-6 Contracts Allow For Stay Busy Fights?

    Just curious about this....

Abraham-Dirrell is tentative for late January in the USA. Since we havent heard much about it I think there is a very good chance that date gets pushed back.

With Kessler's cuts and Taylor's situation it is likely the Kessler-Froch and Ward-Taylor fights won't won't be completed until May-June.

So if Abraham and Dirrell take care of their 2nd round fight in January they are looking at possibly 9-10 months before the 3rd round matchups are ready to go off..

Would they be allowed to take a stay busy fight to stay sharp??

I don't believe the contracts forbid stay-busy fights, but the way they are scheduling the fights for the tournament so close together would definitely make it hard to have any extra training and recovery time.

Abraham and Dirrell are scheduled to fight in late January because both of their 1st round fights were in mid October, giving them 3 1/2 months between fights.

Ward/Taylor and Froch/Kessler are scheduled for early March to allow Ward and Kessler approx 3 1/2 months between fights. Kessler's cuts may postpone his fight a bit but I would imagine Taylor could be ready to go by then. In other contact sports athletes suffer concussions and are often back in action within a couple of weeks.
