Paul Williams is one of my favorite fighters, and I can't stand Floyd. So to me, the TS is stereotyping all Williams fans as Floyd fans. But the things that are true that has been brought up in this thread is the fact that Pac and Floyd haven't mentioned his name.

I'm sure manny can make 135 but is he a lightweight anymore??

Another point I would like to make is that how manny of the current WW champions do you really think can fight for a middleweight title like Paul Williams is going to and that's "if" he gets past Sergio Martinez. Come on now paul is a ****ing Middleweight or Super Middleweight and should be fighting Kessler, Ward, and all the other super six Super middleweights that are his size!

Shane, Pac, Floyd....none are fighting him despite Paul calling them out so in the end, all three are safe on their own little Islands while Paul is stuck on his boat looking to dock.

The whole WW division is ducking Williams.

But threadstarter is pointing out that for a loooooooong minute, these hardcore PBF fans were bandwagon PWILL fans untill Williams mentioned Floyd's name. Then, they stopped the whole, "Why are latinos ducking Williams etc etc".

No I agree with you that Floyd picks on little guys but why would I be a hypocrite and want floyd to fight someone who is obviously 3 weight classes bigger than him.

It's easy to look like a Boxing God when you have 4 inch height advantage and a 5 inch reach advantage over everyone you fight. But the real question is should a so called boxing God lose to a run of the mill fighter like carlos Quintana?

I want him to fight someone his own size in his natural weight class. Just because he has a great metabolisim doesnt make him a welterweight.

You wanna know why paul Williams doesn't get fights? Because he never fights anyone his size. Plus anyone who has a loss to ordinary carlos Quintana has no buissness fighting top level fighters either.
                  This.

Plus he has absolutely no following and 0 draw.

Noone wants to see him use his 10 inch reach advantage and 4-6 inch height advantage on guys at 147. We rather see him put on the weight his frame can handle and **** with the big boys.

I don't think they were afraid I just think they wern't gonna fight some guy who is 3 weight classes bigger than them and brings no money to the dance on top of it.

If Paul Williams can make the weight he should fighter at ww if he wants and go after the top competition. Haven't there been really tall welterweights who occupy HOF spots in this sport? If anything, I would say that it would be a good opportunity for anyone from Floyd, Shane, or Clottey to attempt to gain a win that most fighters seem to avoid.

And that's exactly what many of the past greats have done, beaten larger foes. I think Leonard knocking out Hearns in their first fight is a great example but definitely not the only one that can be pointed out.

And maybe I'm wrong here, but it seems to me like he indeed has been trying to fight people his size. Didn't a fight just fall apart against Pavlik and now he's fighting Martinez, who I believe is much more of a threat than Kelly is. I think that it should also not be overlooked that fought and defeated Winky Wright, a fighter who most of the competition wants nothing to do with. Is Paul Williams technically flawed? Yes, I definitely believe so. But, let the big man fight at whatever weight he wants to if he can make it and allow the future greats to prove themselves against him as their predecessors have done similarly in the past.
