Marquez was trying to do the impossible when he fought Floyd!

Ever wonder why for so many years of history of Mexican boxing, no fighter from Mexico has ever been champion in 4 weight classes? Chavez, Barrera, and Morales couldn't do it. Maybe its not in their genes to get so big and still perform on the same level. The skill and heart may still be there but the power, speed, stamina , and other physical abilities wont.

Marquez was champion in 126, 130 and 135, and that means the poor Mexican has already maxed out in the lightweight division. Floyd made him jump from his borderline weight for 9 pounds, I repeat 9 pounds. To make matters worse Mayweather conned Marquez yet again by keeping the real catchweight a secret keeping Team Marquez guessing up to the last minute. Floyd was never going to try to make 144 the moment the fight was signed. In the end, Marquez was fighting someone 2 weight divisions bigger than his real weight, the LW.

Nacho Beristain in the 24/7 kept saying Marquez has gained some power but was losing considerable hand-spped. The lack of quality sparring partners and the big similarities in the styles of Marquez and Mayweather, both being counterpunchers are adding insult to injuries. Styles makes fights and it meant that during the fight, either one JMM or Floyd is gonna have to do the offense. And we all know the latter ain't gonna be the one to do that. Marquez was taken out his comfort zone in the Mayweather fight. He became an easy target for Floyd as Marquez his whole life was never an offensive machine.

JMM is a great fighter there is no need to make such excuses for him he shot for the moon and came up short no shame in that.

Oscar De La Hoya won titles in 6 divisions, and hes Mexican.
His grandparents and both his parents are Mexican so he's Mexican too, Don't give me that bull**** that he ain't Mexican, because they didn't change his blood at the hospital with a white person's blood.

Very poorly thought out thread. When you began making racist/genetic arguments I stop reading, and so do most reasonable people.
