If Calzaghe thinks he's gonna come off a long layoff and fight a top fighter like Dawson without a tuneup, he will get his turned into a 1.

      Chad Dawson easily.

Joe Calzaghe was a fraud who only beat bums and shot fighters. His best and most career defining win was against Mikkell Kessler and look now... a green and 25 year old Andre Ward whooped him way worse than a experienced and prime Calzaghe did.

I always thought it was the other way around, even when Calzaghe was still active. Dawson is simply too big on top of being faster with more power. Now that hes been inactive, i don't think it would be all that competitive.

Dawson, but the fight would never happen. Everyone knows Calzaghe would never take a risk like that. Even when he wasn't 37 and retired.

Exactly, they think it would be the way his fights against Jones and Hopkins turned out. Like in the old Dawson/Calzaghe threads, someone said ''Calzaghe will probably get knocked down early and dominate the rest of the fight''. It was ridiculous, because they forget that Dawson would be the biggest opponent in Calzaghe's career and one of the most skilled ( and in his prime).

Theres no way he wud knock Joe out! so wud prob go the distance, who got more work rate and stanima to win the rounds!!!

                Joe Ud.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is biased

But seriously, no way chad could out work him! so he wud have to knock him out, and that wud never happen! 1 winner 4 me!

I hate Joe Calzaghe, and respect what Chad has done even though I don't really like him either. But if Joe is at his best, he beats Chad with ease. And why are people still demanding this fight when Dawson doesn't even pose the biggest threat to Calzaghe? I'd give Ward and Cloud the better chance against him because they have more power, and they are almost just as skilled. Ward is more skilled than Dawson.

                      joe UD.

dawson is decent but would lose to an in-shape calzaghe.

what weight is this being fought at?

Calzaghe would need a tune up, too long out now.
