    Haye vs Valuev - what if the referee had

    Haye vs Valuev - what if the referee had called a halt to the fight midway threw the 3rd round and said to David Haye, "Millions of boxing fans have paid to see this fight, you either fight or i will disqualify you" ...how would the fight have gone

    amazed that no-one can respond to this thread and simply accepts that Haye`s actions should be rewarded with the Heavyweight belt

      the ref cant do anything just because one guy is outboxing his opponent
      unless its the ref in the froch fight,who deducted a point from dirrell because froch was getting embarrassed

        Haye would of thrown more and still won a UD.

        He was over cautious, and could of boxed Valuev more, throwing the occasional jab wouldnt of hurt. He was just waiting to land the big KO punch, and broke his hand.
        Valuev couldnt catch him either way.

          Haye broke his right hand early on. He had to fight even more cautiously than planned.

          He would have won by KO if he pushed the fight more, but there is nothing illegal about a gameplan.

            Haye outboxed him, there are no rules that say you have to throw X amount of punches per round, or finish the fight with your face smashed in.

            And going by what happened in the 12th Haye would probably have KO'd Valuev had he started letting punches go earlier. I notice you purposely didn't include that option.

              Haye done what he had to do, who would wanna go toe to toe wit that dude it's just silly, I think the ruiz fight will b alot more exciting coz Hayes gonna attack him silly
