Jones was leaning back on the ropes and sliping punches will delivering powerful body shots. Jones wasn't as busy but his puches were more measured and most of them landed cleanly.

based on the pace of this fight it was destined to end in 1 of 2 ways. Either Johnson was going to land a big clean shot and put Roy down, or he was going to tire and get ko'ed himself.
Okay, I've seen the Ali-Foreman replay. But, even though I dont put alot of validity in compubox numbers, Johnson was outpunching him in every round but 2 or 3. Even though it's done by human's that make mistakes, the difference was big enough that even deducting some of the number's for Johnson you still have him outboxing Jones. Johnson applied pressure and didnt stop; Jones threw only a few combo's, but for the most part when he did punch it was ONE punch.
I know all of you think that because I dont like Jones I cant score a fight without bias, but I'm telling you as a neutral observer, Johnson outboxed him. And if it had been reversed, everyone would be saying that Jones "schooled" Johnson. I've kept any and all smart remark's about Jones' loss out of my posts out of kindness; but I stand by what I say...Johnson out punched him all night long

I don't think punch numbers necessarily mean one guys is getting outboxed, although that can be the case. I think RJ was getting out-hussled more than outboxed. IMO, outboxing is when one guy is making the other guy miss AND landing more and a better percentage of punches.

RJ was landing with the same percentage of punches as Johnson (actually, 1% better I think...27% to 26% or 28% to 27%), but Johnson threw a lot more punches. At least I think these were the overall stats. RJ averaged about 20 punches per round, which is pathetic, so it wasn't hard for Johnson to out-work RJ. RJ was like a statue in the ring most of the fight and I was a little surprised that Johnson was only able to land 27%.

Wright vs Mosley and Forrest vs Mosley are two good examples of a guy being out-boxed.

I agree that Jones was landing shot that were more effective. The only problem was, he didn't throw enough! I think once he saw that Johnson was swinging wide and had a high punch output, Roy figured Glen would tire himself out. Only he didn't. So by say the 6-7th round. Roy starts to panick as in "Oh **** this guy's gonna keep the same pace and I'll lose on the cards" I think Roy wanted an all out assault in the final 2-3 rounds to take Johnson out. He's smart, he knew he was losing. Only he never had a chance cuz he got clocked before his offensive attack.

I'm not a huge RJJ fan but I do respect the man's accomplishments and was in my opinion p4p king (looking at his overall accomplishments more than his last outings). To see the "king" go down like that was just shocking. I was silenced for a good 5-10 minutes with my mouth open.I was sad, then worried that he might have been seriously hurt.

I've been a Glen Johnson fan since he and JuGo (R.I.P) went at it. Fan friendly style, the Roadwarrior fought everyone in their hometowns.
Plus after his biggest win he still maintained his humble self saying he is still looking for Mr Best.
