Valuev vs. anyone in the Top 30 hasn't happened yet. I can't make a judgment on the guy until I've seen him fight somebody good.
That being said, Valuev's chin hasn't been checked in the three fights (Dominguez, Levin, Nobles) that I've seen. Valuev is a guy that would lose probably every round against Ruiz, but could end the fight with a few punches. I would say that about a ton of guys right now, and for that reason, I think Valuev will have to be a mandatory before any champ gives him a shot.
This guy's skull-shape is remarkable. Can you imagine what it would take to KO him with a shot to the head? With that dome and all that proportioned body weight? Plus that guy has to scare the bejeezus out of whoever is standing across from him in the ring...
Levin did win 2 rounds against him before being KO'd in the third. I don't think Valuev is all that skilled, but maybe he doesn't have to be... -

I'd go with Ruiz at this point but Valuev does seem to have very heavy hands. I've heard that he's broken the ribs of many opponents with the crude punching mechanics that he does possess. He is not a KO artist but he may be the strongest boxer on the planet.Comment

Yes, I'd love to see that fight too! A boar vs. a bear.. that's what I see as HBO headlines! LOLI'd go with Valuev on this one. Good luck to Ruiz holding on to Valuev. If Toney the Phoney does beat Ruiz I would love to see Toney vs Valuev, then we will see what this tittie overweight middleweight will do.Comment

No way. Tye Fields can benchpress 600 lbs. He squats close to 2000. Deadlifts over a 1000. He warms up doing sets of 20 with 100lb dumbells when doing curls also.Originally posted by Kid Achilles. He is not a KO artist but he may be the strongest boxer on the planet.
I can barely curl a 50lber 3 times. LOL.
