Abraham deserves to be higher than 7th.

Taylor, despite his recent defeats, is still one of the 10 best boxers at the weight, though maybe only deserving of 9th or 10th place.

Bute, with 2 wins over current top 10 opposition, isn't a bad candidate for the top spot, but I think Ward was so impressive that he deserves it.

By the way, beating the guy considered number 1 doesn't automatically make you number one. It's a set of rankings based upon opinion based upon performances and results. The number 1 spot is not an official title that is won or lost against challengers.

          Damn morons!!!
But in fairness you're describing the Pound for Pound rankings man. They are based on body of work and recent wins.

The Ring Rankings rank towards the Ring Championship belt, therefore it is a proper ranking system, and if you beat someone you take their place.

Kessler was the number one ranked, and because of this tournament Ward got a shot at him and beat the man.

Thats how I see it. Someone please correct me if I'm reading it wrong.

Well Explain me this why is Mayweather ranked as a top 10 WW when he didnt beat one?

Why is Dawson #1 when he never beat Hopkins?

Why is Pacquiao ranked #1 at WW when he didnt beat Mosley

              And so and so.

You also have to remember Ch@mp, The Ring's ratings are done by a board. It's very likely that not everyone agreed with having him number one.

I know Doug Fischer (who is on the board) said that he belives Ward belongs right up there with Bute, but did not specify if he'd have him at number one.

This guy doesn’t understand the difference between divisional ranking and P4P ranking. P4P is based on resume and wins. In divisional ranking if you beat someone you leapfrog them

Doesnt matter they didnt eat the #1, and FLoyd is ranked at WW without even fighting a top 10 WW.
