That's what I'd like to see because then we'd have a competitive fight with Manny forcing Floyd to dig deep.

But Floyd's jabs are disruptive; his quick counters, masterful; these skills take the opponent off his rhythm and pre-empt attacks time and time again. Throw in some stinging right leads as a change-up and the other guy soon becomes darn right gun shy. Once that happens, it's essentially game over. Controlling distance, Floyd pot shots the opponent for the remainder of the fight, usually coasting to a UD.

It's beautiful to watch as a boxing fan; but bores the **** out of me as a fan of fighters like Hagler, Hearns, Duran.

I wasn't a Ray Leonard fan until he went toe to toe with Duran. That took balls. And I think some fans like me who resented his super star treatment came around after that fight even though he lost. I certainly didn't begrudge the slick approach he took for the No Mas rematch. He had voluntarily gone through a war with Duran in the first bout.

I just don't see Floyd EVER doing that. Which is why this upcoming fight will be more of the same. I'm hoping Manny can prove me wrong yet again but my expectations are modest.

Anyway, no matter how technically gifted, Floyd will never get the accolades he so desires from all fight fans until he challenges himself by stepping into the ring with a guy who could wrest control of the fight away from him. IMO, that would be PWilliams or Shane Mosely.

FREDDIE ROACH: Floyd is the easiest fight of the three! (Mosley, Cotto, Mayweather)

@rommel357 - I agree that Manny enjoyed success as a counter puncher in his last few fights. It's a useful skill to develop and makes him a more complete fighter.

Yo jackass, what part of this statement of mine that says anybody can be a counter puncher you ****ing moron. Every single example i gave is about Manny counter punching and KO'ing his opponent. Obviously you haven't watch enough of Manny's fights, he is a counter puncher, not solely a counter puncher but he does implement it.

Ellerbe...does suck MAYWEATHER'S **** ....this guy is as ignorant as they come...same dumbass people keep referring to PACQUIAO's pass fight, what they fail to realize is that PACQUIAO has developed other arsenal to his straight left, not to mention his defense, which he block some of COTTO'S counter, plus being able to take COTTO's best punch and body punches...MAYWEATHER's best chance is to hide and try to win by points, cause if he tries to exchange with PACQUIAO...he will definetly lose....I bet if PACQUIAO was black, none of this dumbassses would be downgrading PACQUIAO...FUNNY how black people always cry racism, when they are one of the biggest RACIST THEMSELVES....
