Probably by midweek they will have the official numbers but that's if they release them to the press.

I bet the PPV buys would be equivalent to putting the fighter on HBO After Dark, LoL. Can you imagine that? Barrera goes from PPV status down to Boxing After Dark if they actually went through with their rules. Of course Barrera won't go back down there though it's just a thought. I hope they did horrid so they can stop wasting money. Boxing is a very risky buisness sport with money. Why the heck would you spend money on promoting and advertising a fight if it won't generate the money back in the first place? It's dumb decisions like these that could kill boxing.

My uncle bought it at his house and we were there for a family get-together. I didnt even remember he was fighting on Saturday till my cousin asked me about the fight. I told him it wasnt worth the money but my uncle is well off and likes Barrera a lot too so he got it anyway.

Ruiz-Golota-Ouch I am not sure, I never caught the numbers do you remember them? I do remember them being low but bigger than klitschko vs williams...But damn that ppv card was stacked and still drew poorly.

El-Also Barrera vs Pacman was on After Dark...To be a success on HBO you have to draw a 5.0 rating to become a part in their stable (that includes the after dark series as well) what those ratings mean in a nutshell in the ballpark range if a fight gets a rating of 5.0 for example that means roughly 5 million people viewed that fight.

not even 5% of that probably ordered this ppv, the hbo telecasts have always drew larger than the ppvs.

Actually, it was said the Klitschko Williams fight didn't even do 100 000 buys. HBO fudged the numbers after saying that even at 120 000 buys it lost Millions of dollars.

And Tyson vs Williams was estimated closer to 230 000 buys:

I think Ruiz vs Golota was about 200,000 buys.

I cannot believe it was PPV to see live that is outrageous.

Oscar DLH was a very good fighter and didi an awful lot for the sport of boxing, ametuer and professional.
He talked a lot about , as a promotor, "working for the fighter", as opposed to the fighters working for him.

Then regular public are asked to pay for serious mismatches as the main event. That **** is wrong, I have no doubt DLH could not done that, I read somewhere it was up to HBO?
But I am doubtful of that.

Barrera is a NAME, sure it was a bad call to make it ppv. But it was GBP "VIVA MEXICO". Meaning that GoldenBoy paid HBO their standard fee to air a fight under the hbo ppv banner. King does it all the time it is just business. If you had the money you could put Reggie Strickland on HBO PPV.

IT ISNT THAT BIG OF A DEAL, people pay more (50 bucks) for other ridiculous cards.

How about Fiesta De la hoya?

                    Lara vs Raimerez
                    Navarro vs Hurtado
                    Jauregui vs Johnson
                    Lario vs Kiatlisakchicchoi

                    Would you pay for that?

                    ****.

No but previous bad PPVs are not the point here.

Just cause Barrera is a big name , is no reason to get the average person to pay for this mismatch.

DLH talked about cleaning up boxing, oh he is cleaning up ok, but not like he said.
