Steve’s magazine show, Steve Bunce’s Boxing Hour, attracted a cult following in the UK and the US, the show was downloaded, posted to Youtube and hit the forums, becoming a digital boxing phenomenon. However, Setanta’s ‘speculate to accumulate’ mentality saw them hit the wall in June, the station owed The FA big bucks and was forced to close trading here in the UK as a consequence of their profligate approach towards football. I think the ITV show is pretty good. It's nice to see anything boxing-related on television really, and I like McGuigan and the other guys they have on there.

I remember Buncey in the 90s, and it's true that people sometimes forget how long he's been around. He was also a bit different back then, a bit more reserved and less likely to come across as a big mouth (nothing personal against the guy, but some of his comments are very wide of the mark).

He's right, Sky had Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan, both of which appear on their premium Sky Box Office service. Setanta had all the big fights from American and Haye and Calzaghe and didn't charge extra for them.

Setanta was the best boxing coverage this country has ever had.

Setanta had a terrible bussiness model, They may have showed more boxing but they were always going to fail. Bunce is ok but he becomes annoying if you listen to him for to long.

Setanta was the best for boxing, we even had live Amateur finals as well as all the best American fights. Never forget coming home after a night in town and watching Kendall Holt vs Ricardo Torres II, proper class like.

good to hear from Buncey again and he is totally right about Sky's boxing coverage compared to Setanta. Oh I wish how the Boxing hour was back.
