Floyds defense is great, no doubt about that. He is a defensive first fighter, this is why he never throws combinations.
Pacquiao being a southpaw is going to make his defensive game a little uneven, he will have to resort to a Winky Wright style defense (much like he did against the southpaws he had faced). However, this defense simply isn't as good as his traditional defense he uses against orthodox fighters.
Anyways, regardless of skill etc, what will Floyd do when Manny does land on him? It seems all of Manny's punches do damage, even his jabs. Cottos face was red and had a little nick by round 2. Everyone Pacquiao has faced has developed swelling from 1 or 2 punches even. So what's the deal here? Floyd is the smallest guy Pacquiao will have faced since David Diaz. I don't buy into Floyd being that big, it's easy to look big beside a blown up featherweight - but that doesn't change the fact that Ricky Hatton was throwing him around like a ragdoll for 6 rounds that people seem to forget.
But anyway, Floyd has been hit by bigger punchers, and AT welter weight.
If Manny brings a bigger punch to the fight, that will be very impressive.Comment

1st of all those Southpaw fights are so overrated. Mitchell didnt land anything and loss every round before getting KO. The only round Chop may have won was when he really hurt Floyd but alot of people still think Floyd won that round. Alot of that fight Floyd was still using the shoulder roll. Remember that was his 1st fight against a Southpaw since his 2nd pro fight so he didnt know for sure if the shoulder roll worked or not. Thats why he got hit like that early but after like round 4, Floyd adjusted and Chop basically didnt land again the whole fight. Its the same thing with Zab. Zab won rounds 1,2, and 4 and nothing else. I cant beleive that everyone says Zab ran out of gas in that fight like Floyd is some bum or something. He didnt run out of gas. Floyd figured him out by that time and Zab didnt really land anything again the whole fight.
Floyd is so good and gets hit so little that people act like he was so suspect in those fights. He wasnt. 1st of all his chin is good. Its not like he is just going to crumble. Alot of times there are early fight jitters and you have to adjust to speed & style, while Floyd has also had only 1 fight in 2 and a half years by that time. That means he could get caught early and hurt bad. Thats Pac only shot because after round 4 or 5, I bet anything that he also doesnt land on Floyd again. Once Floyd adjust, the fight is over.
Again, thats the worst case scenerio. Its still possible to me that Floyd could just own him from the jump and not get hit at all the whole fight. Its not about who's better, its about styles. Pac is better than Zab, Mitchell, and Chop but all of them have mad speed also and all of them are way more slicker and better pure boxers than Pac. They just are. Its a different kind of shot. People think all those angles and stuff will bother Floyd but they wont. He'd much rather face that than Zab throwing a quick dart lazer back at him with perfect form. Pac doesnt do that and that will be much easier to stop.
Seriously though, dont be fooled. The night & day difference in speed, D, and awearness between Floyd versus Diaz, Oscar, Hatton, and Cotto will show huge. It will literaly be night & day and people will be shocked. I think it could be one of those deals where after the fight alot of fans, e****ally casual one's will be asking what was wrong with Pac. How come Pac didnt do this and how come Pac didnt do that? Was he hurt. Was it this, was it that? They will be asking that because Floyd will make him look so differnt than he has in all his recent fights. It happeneds all the time in sports. The best D ususally shuts down the explosive OComment

Noone is pretending Pacquiao is a 1punch knockout artist. But it's undeniable that Pac is the hardest puncher Mayweather has ever faced. And as good as Mayweather's defense is he WILL get hit. he's not perfect. He WILL get hit.. And when he does....how do you think he will react??Comment

IDK if he hits harder than Chico at SFW. That guy use to decapitate people. Also, dont overlook the fact that Pac is a Southpaw. That almost doubles his power because these guys dont see it coming most of the time. I still say that he wouldnt be walking through all these guys if he were a righty and I think he would be 0-2 against JMM if he were a righty. Him being Southpaw changes everything
Corley, Judah & Mitchell are all counter punching southpaws ..Pac is notComment

Why people are acting like Pacquiao is a one punch knock out artist is beyond me. He will have trouble landing on mayweather and mayweather has a chin, he has fought plenty of guys more powerful than him and has taken punches very well..
Hatton only landed 63 out of 372 17%
Judge: Paul Smith 88-82
Judge: Dave Moretti 89-81
Judge: Burt A. Clements 89-81Comment

He doesn't get enough credit for his counter punching skills.Comment

The fans will be bored to heck if Manny nor Freddie can figure Floyd out the entire fight. Much like how Pac-Cotto turned out after six rounds. They'll call it a snooze fest.
