Because it makes no sense. You need to look from the fighter's point of view instead of the fan all the time. Floyd is not trying to prove anything to anyone on this board. If Pac had the numbers Floyd had you nor anyone would be saying such nonsense. When Pac was negotiating with Hatton all of you brought up Pac's PPV numbers since Hatton was only involved in one now that it doesnt suit you now you turn to other stuff. Again there is nothing wrong with taking less and still getting 25 million. Floyd took 32% for the Oscar fight and still made 25 million.

Yeah it's easy to forget that there are promoters, TV executives and accountants sorting this all stuff out behind the scenes

It's not Floyd Jnr and Freddy Roach sitting in a room arguing over the purse split lol - their involvement is mostly hype talk and one upmanship

Yeah man people dont understand... Everyone saying, "they need to just make it happen 50-50"...... There is sooooo much more to it then that... negotiating with tv exec, sponsors, the particulars of the fight, location, promotoinal plans, splits on the live gate, ppv sales... there's so much to iron out, expecially with the magnitude of this fight... Everyone should just chill man wait for the fight to either be made or fall apart... Like I said if it falls apart Arum and Shaeffer will say why and if it's Floyd's fault then go ahead and roast him all you want... and what do you mean like floyd is trying to prove something? 40/40 +20 to the winner will be good for floyd cause he doesnt have to undergo all the task of negotiationg if he bulge into that. why not get it if hes so confident of a win? how will you react if floyd later agrees to a 50/50 split?

Mayweather & co. haven't seemed to have budged an inch despite actively looking to move things forward what with Schaefer's involvement and securing real contract negotiations etc. while team Pacquiao have more or less conceded to 50% already. They blinked first and made the initial concession so I think it's natural that they will budge again and give up a further 3% or so.
