"er" makes a big dfference from "a"
"er" is completely offensive and discriminating
"a" is often used in friendly terms or a substitute for words like ""man" "dude" "bro" etc..
In that case the teacher was basically mimicking and clowning the student for using inappropriate slang like "nigha". I'm sure the teacher wasn't trying to be racist
