Your missing the point, whnever Ward started a clinch he let go to do his work on the inside and Kessler would hold on in defense to stop the infighting. The referee even told them to fight out of it which Ward tried to do and the ref had on one particular instance told Kessler to let go.

Exactly, look at the beginning of RD3 in the first 20 seconds. As soon as Ward gets inside he works the body then goes up the ladder and finishes with a combo up top. That would have happened all day unless Kessler held on and prolonged the clinches as defense mechanism.

People are ignoring that in the close quarters he did this and prolonged the clenching sessions to AVOID the inside fighting where he had the disadvantage and was getting beat badly. Yes they initiated by Ward, but when he let go to do his business on the inside Kessler held for a LONGER period of time.

Ward held and hit all night vs Miranda and Kessler. It works like a charm !
