    My thoughts on Mikkel Kessler

I just want to say great peformance by Ward, it wasn't a dirty fight as some people exaggerated, Ward gave him a boxing clinic, his defense was top notch. There was some holding and hitting and head butts, but even if Ward wasn't doing any of that he still would of won the fight.

But on Kessler, I'm surprised that a #1 ranked SMW (or when he was ranked #1) had little to no head movement. Kessler looked absolutley lost, his defense was poor, I was surprised how limited both offensively and defenisvely Kessler was. Kessler is still a good B level boxer, but he's going to make A LOT of adjustments if he wants to try to compete with the other boxers like Dirrell, Bute, and even Abraham.

It was surprisin Kessler made no adjustments in the fight. He got picked apart without doin **** to change the flow of action in his favor. I won't go sayin he was exposed or some ****. Ward deserves all the credit for makin him look like ****.

I think Kessler was exposed, even if he didn't have a plan B, he shouldn't of got hit that much. I didn't see any head movement from Kessler.

i think he will lose alot more after last night. people see what he really can and cannot do. if someone plants with him though they are in trouble. the few times ward did in the early rounds kessler was able to put punches together. they just didnt land

That my biggest question going into this fight--could Kessler adjust?

I also questioned his inside game.

He really was poor wasn't he? Taking nothing away from Ward- he fought an intelligent, disiplined fight. I was just thinking the other day what was so special about Kessler, I came to the conclusion that he was just good at everything, but great at nothing. Good Jab, reasonable speed, reasonable power, reasonable defence, reasonably intelligent in the ring, decent stamina, fights tall. That's enough to win most fights I guess.

Ward's versatility and ring craft made him look ordinary though, as Kessler had no plan B. I still think Kessler is a decent fighter that can beat other good fighters. Just not the cream of the crop. That's my take anyway, I think he still beats Froch. Only time will tell.

ward showed flashes of RJJ, and then he showed flashes of Bhop.

imho ward could beat kessler w/out all the holding and hitting and headbutting, but that stuff really threw kessler off his game.
