I've always thought he could be a little robotic, and only heated up and became dominant if he was allowed to for a moment, lands some big shots. Then he gets some confidence and starts throwing some combinations and can take over fights.
But when that's not the case he can become disheartened, and that looked to be the case to me. Slightly odd for a warrior. He's still a very good fighter, this was an awful style match up for him and he just does not adapt well enough. Last night he didn't look good at all, and his corner don't fire him up enough either so he can labour to a losing a good few rounds at times.Comment

^^ This. Kessler would likely be beaten by a style like Ward's anyway. I pretty much saw it coming. I could be wrong, but Kessler might have lost a step due to Palle messing his career up since the Calzaghe fight, but based on styles alone, Ward was always gonna be trouble.
I'm still a fan of Kessler, though. Just a bad matchup for him.
Just to break away from the Pacquiao-Cotto mania for a second...
After studying Ward, I have a feeling Kessler might have some real problems with this guy. He is pretty damn versatile, has a lot of angles to his game and is a very smart boxer who can fight well right handed or left handed. Can Kessler deal with him? I'm not 100% confident. I was intending to bet on Kessler, he's the more experienced fighter, but hasn't done much of significance recently. To be honest, I think I'll pass on it and not bet at all. I can't pick a winner in this one!
What are your thoughts?

And.. the excuses have started. Kessler got schooled and that means he wasn't prepared. Even though he admitted that all he was thinking about while training was Ward and he was taking this fight more seriously than any of his previous fights.
The usual Kessler showed up. He got beat. Get over it.Comment
