Kessler's loss: Calzaghe legacy shattered ?

The win over Lacy was declared to be a sign of utter dominance - yet exposed was that win as Lacy fumbled from one crap fight to another.

"Kessler will smash Ward" was the typical consensus.

Then Kessler looked exactly like he did against Calzaghe put was bust up and ran very short of ideas.

Calzaghe's win over Hopkins was also seen differently by half the boxing world. Whereby only the hardcore Calzaghe supporters were truly defiant that he won.

Wheras Hopkins fans and neutrals thought that Calzaghe lost after being bust up, dropped and could land zero telling punches on the Executioner.

Not quite: Calzaghe still went undefeated. For Lacy: He destroyed Lacy both Physically and Mentally. For Kessler: he had problems up until he spotted a weakness and then took over so...he paved the ground work on how to beat him. Can't find the video but he talks with Smitty??? on how he beat Kessler. He just didn't destroy Kessler so none of that "past prime" will work with him but he did expose him.

      I agree.

      slappys resume:

      kessler(average fighter at best)
      lacy(hyped up bum)
      rjj(40 years old and shot)
hopkins(44 years old and past prime and still beat calzaghe imo)
      eubank(past prime)

Calzaghe is no better than the likes of Sven Ottke, Zsolt Erdei or JCC jr. thats the truth.

I dont care how old old those guys were. A win over any of those 3 let alone all 3 of them is still pretty damn impressive considering they're still and/or was beating guys half their age still.

for what its worth i dont think calz's resume is his lone win over kessler, he has some very good wins aside from that.

That theory doesnt work. Post Calzaghe,Kessler has done very little and has spent a good deal of time wrangling over his promotional contract.

If you're going to go down this road, then it can just as easily be argued that Calzaghe ruined Kessler.
