I don't think anyone of the super six are 40 years old or older, so Joe wont do it.
Joe Calzaghe said he is ready to replace Taylor

How is Taylor more skilled than Ward? What does he do better? Ward has WAYYYYYY better defense, and offensively he's more versatile than Jermain.Comment

Taylor is great at getting KO'd in the last minute of a 12th round. Ward doesn't have to be the hardest puncher in the Tourney, he'll stop Taylor. That chin of Taylors is like an egg right now its just ready to crack. Lets see if Ward is too much of a nice guy that he lets Taylor survive for 12 rounds...Comment

Defense, the ability to fight on the inside, chin, heart, more consistent jab, intelligence, ring generalship, more versatility in his game, etc..
what does Taylor have over Ward?
Power...maybe a SLIGHT speed advantage. Nothing else. I don't get how that makes him more skilled.Comment

Yup. I like JT, but Ward is better in every way except maybe power. Aside from a cracked jaw, Jermain is just too predictable. His feet are crazy slow (if he could just shake off that bucket from his hind foot) and simply does not know how to control distance. Ward is a much more complete fighter.Comment

Calzaghe is not far off 38 years old and hasn't had a competitive fight since Hopkins. No way is he coming back.

Calzaghe is doing everything he can to keep his name in the spotlight. The fact is Calzaghe fought more than 40 times and he couldn't draw flies to s....t until his last five fights. His fight against Jeff Lacy, the biggest fight of his career at the time, drew a whopping 12,000 in his hometown. That was his biggest crowd to date and it was his 41st fight. Also, prior to the Lacy fight, American television wouldn't even show his fights and HBO thought so little of him that they weren't willing to give an extra $1 million to land a Calzaghe/Jermain Taylor fight. Yet, some of the people on this site talk about him like he is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
If he wants to remain retired, I wish he would keep his mouth shut. If he wants to fight, then come back and fight the best fighters out there like Chad Dawson and the best guys at 168 instead of B-Class fighters like Peter Manfredo Jr and Sakio Biko instead of talking trash from the sidelines.Comment
