That is, if Taylor is not shot to pieces.

Taylor has a great jab and great timing which is essential against a slickster like Ward, he can also connect with lead rights on Ward since Ward drops his left hand. Ward doesn't have the power to bother Taylor. Although I think after suffering 3 brutal KO's, I'm afraid JT is finished.
I hope Taylor beats Ward. But after Ward's performance tonight against Kessler, I don't see it happening. Ward is quick and dirty. Enough power to KO Taylor? I didn't see it tonight, but he has the speed to knock Taylor all around the ring until the ref steps in.

Yeah, just because Taylors career as a boxer is pretty much done... He doesn't seem to have the athleticism to keep him in the race it seems.

He can get him late. Taylor is there for the taking late. It's been evident for the longest.

He'll probably knock Taylor out in the 12th round knowing Taylors horrible luck. And his chin is definitely softened up over the years taking punishment from Pavlik, Froch, and hard ass puncher Abraham.

Then again, Cory fucking Spinks was pressuring Taylor to the ropes.

I pretty much agree. Although Ward might ease off and just take the decision. He really had to prove himself tonight and fought pretty hard for all twelve rounds. I don't think he'll need to be as intense the whole fight against Taylor. One because Taylor tails off and might not be offering much for Ward to worry about late in the fight.

Sadly, I've gotta agree with you.

Ward's got too much for Taylor. He's a better boxer, smarter in the ring, and has the movement (think Hopkins) and handspeed (think Spinks) to frustrate the hell out of Taylor.

Taylor's got a chance, but it's not much of one. He's got to be quick enough to catch Ward where Kessler wasn't. He'll have to throw combos, where Kessler didn't. JT will have to let his hands go and get Ward into back and forth exchanges and hope he's the bigger puncher (possible) and has the sturdier chin (doubtful).

And for Taylor to even have a chance at winning he must, MUST put together a new corner.

True. I had Spinks winning that fight 7 rounds to 5.

On the other hand, Taylor's third fight is supposed to be against Kessler and I'd say his odds of winning that one just increased ever so slightly.
