ok let me say i am AMERICAN and i was rooting for ward but am totally disgusted in what went on tonight ward hit and held , hit on breaks ,then held again ,lead with his head and pawed with his jab 10 times worst then vladimir ,that one head butt was soooo intentional he should have be DQed on the spot ,,i thought this was a boxing tournament not ufc i knew ward was dirty from the miranda fight but 2night he took it to a whole other level i am ashamed 2 be american right now (jk) the referee was one of the worst i have ever seen he basically made the doctor stop the fight
it was just a travesty really

americans always claim we never get a fair shake in european hometowns ,but when the hell do we give them one ? or even our own fighters ? (mallinaggi diaz ) i dont even know why i bother posting this since i am 100% sure ward has 10000000 fan boys by now compared to the 0 he had lasnight ,,

imo ward prolly woulda won either way kessler looked terrible 2night but 2 win in that fashion he should be ashamed

well considering i've been fighting since i was 12, i'm 32 now. been in the army for 13 years. boxed for the all army team at ft drum ny for 6 of those years, and am now a combatives instructor at ft bliss tx, if you have better then that, then good times

Kessler got outboxed and lost to the better man tonight, that being said, Ward still fought dirty. Does Kessler have some legitimate gripes? Definitely, but it still wouldn't have changed the outcome of the fight.

but how do you know the head butts were intentional? if you've ever laced up gloves then you know head clashes happen in every fight. of course there would be cuts, ward lumped the skin up good with the punches and jabs, a little smack will open something.

if that is accidental, its still such a **** way to fight, charging in head first like that, that it is a blatant foul, ward may not know for a fact he will nail kess each time but its a clear foul, every time.

the holding though was out of control, this ref was dave parris to ward's ricky hatton and kessler's kostya tszyu

The headbutts are not what the thread was started for. It's just the fact that Ward used some dirty boxing tactics he held kessler around the waist with his glove and then Kessler waited for the ref to break them but then Ward would hit kessler while holding then Ward would let go and be ready to punch Kessler right after letting go of the hold. Also Ward would let off one or two clean punches on Kessler and then lunge in on Kessler and then hold again.Also holding his jab out is another thing. Ward had the edge in speed , he should have fought fair like Honeyghan vs. Curry, he could have done that but instead he used questionable tactics. Ward is a great fighter but most refs would'nt have let him fight that way.
