He should stick to MMA where he belongs. I can't stand the fakeness of these type of commentators who put essentially put on an act by changing their voices and talk with way too much enthusiasm. It's the same **** you'd expect from WWF announcers who are essentially trying to sell oversell you on what's taking place. Just be real.

Like his sidekick on Strikeforce, Mauro Ranallo. When I first heard this guy I said to myself "he HAD to have previously worked in pro wrestling" and sure enough he did.

I don't mind him. I still miss Steve Albert, but Gus is OK. It's Bernstein's whiny voice of which I'm starting to tire...

Tarver isn't a bad commentator, either. His Popeye-like voice cracks me up, but he's obviously knowledgeable enough to be doing this thing.

Gus is ok. He's a real pro. But I prefer Albert a bit more because he knows boxing nuance better.

Not a big fan of Albert for the same reasons I don't really like Johnson but I like Tarver, at least during the fights since he can provide some good insight being a fighter himself and he can be kind of funny as well. He just sounds awkward during the staged pre-fight stuff.

Im sick of this guy. They need to take him off the mic. He really doesn't know anything at all about boxing. His calls are absolutely nonsensical, rarely have anything to do with what is actually happening in the ring, and are often misleading.

Its time to take him off the mic, hes had his chance, and his broadcasting isn't getting any better.

I felt the same way when I first heard him. He finds a way to say Floyd's name in every broadcast Ive noticed that. One thing I do like is he gets excited but sometimes even thats for no reason. He should do more broadcasting instead of trying to be analytical, thats Bernstein and Tarver's job.

Nobody is as good as Roy Jones was, Roy doesnt try to be a broadcaster but rather himself and he comes off natural since he's not trying to work at it. Tarver is ok, I like him.
