What was the excuse to fight Marquez again Floyd Stans?

    No losses?
He was 50-4 when he fought Floyd.....meanwhile Mosely is 46-5, Cotto was 33-1, Berto is 25-0, Clottey was 35-2.....even Bradley was undefeated......

    He's a PPV draw?
Ellerbe is saying upfront that Marquez was no PPV draw.....then why fight him? According to Ellerbe...Cotto is a bigger draw, Mosely is a decent draw, Berto would gladly accept a 70/30 split,

And he's saying that Pacquiao is not a bigger international star than Floyd? I didn't know that the UK was the only country outside the US that watches boxing.....or the only country period....Asia from what I remember from my geography class...is the LARGEST CONTINENT and has the LARGEST POPULATION on earth....but not "internationally".....

It would seem that during these negotiations for a POTENTIAL Mayweather/ Pacquiao fight...alot of things that were used as excuses in the past for Team Mayweather could come back to make them look REALLY BAD....as if they needed help to do that....

Who cares. He's going to be fighting pacman or mosley next. WTF does it matter. Marquez was the number 2 p4p, and Floyd needed a tune up after that long off.

Its called a Tune Up Fight after a 2 year layoff.

Mayweathers tuneup did pretty much the same as the toughest fight of Pacquiaos career.

Exactly. What better way to come out of a near 2 year layoff than to fight the #2 P4P In The World? Not tomato can, but a live opponent.

Does somebody need to put these answers in their sig so folks remember?

A blown up #2 PVP in the world. From 130-147.
I know some people can do it, but Marquez sure can't. Besides, he's a counter-puncher. May made him the aggressor. Good strategy on his part but he's the bigger man.

$44.95 is not what you would price a "tuneup"

"Numero Uno" is not something you would title a "tuneup"

Making the #2 p4p fighter, who is a Lightweight, come up to Welterweight, knowing you have ALL advantages, and still not HONOR the contract weight is not a "tuneup".

                    So....all of a sudden...Marquez is seen as a "tuneup"?
