  • Serious Question: How would Steroids help your chin?

I dont believe Manny Pacquiao is juicing it but lets say Hypothetically speaking, how would roids make your chin better? i understand it makes you stronger and what not but your chin? stamina?

They don't. 'Roids only aid in faster recovery from intense workouts. They help you workout harder and longer. Strength increases are the bi-product of
    progressive resistance.

IF you understand it makes you stronger you should understand that includes increasing the strength and the endurance of all the muscles in the body by a large amount. Strength, endurance, and the psychology in the fighters mind would all help his chin. If you train like a professional fighter and then take steroids the results would be insane, literally you'd feel indestructible hence making you just walk through bombs like their nothing.

They didn't help Vargas from getting KO'd by De La Hoya. I doubt Manny is on them. I don't think he just walked through Cotto's punches. He slowed a little after some of them landed early on, then would pick up intensity after a half a minute or so. Either he was slightly hurt or knew if he was hit again like that right away he would get hurt. No one is superman.

roids and lifting weights WILL NOT improve your chin or ability to take a punch.

steriods does increase body performance; stamina, explosivness, mass, perhaps speed. however, one's punch resistance is not part of the body's performance.

Punch resistance is much more complex than the simple enhancement of the skeletal musclar system by the usage of steriods, it includes plethora of mechanisms that are akin towards one's genetic make up. Whereas much of the rest of a boxer's internal organs are protected by bone, fat, skin and well developed muscle, the soft tissue of the brain is protected only by the skin-covered skull and the three membranes (MEANING THIS CAN NOT BE ENHANCED BY ANY PEDs)

-How hydrated a fighter is due to ECF cusioning the brain
-chin/mandible shape, more dessipation of the impact force,
-where a punch lands, if on the nerve rich region of the face this will send the CNS into shock, or around the ear can destabilize you as it messes with your equilibrium by violating your ear canal and tempanic membrane
-thicker/stubbier/shortent neck. this increases the weight of the base of your head.
-bone density. more dense = better
-dura mater - the thick, tough layer that restricts movement of the brain within the skull, thereby reducing the chance of blood vessels stretching or breaking; the dura matter appears to be the differentiating factor in ones ability to absorb punsishment. Presumably more and thicker dura matter is more beneficial

and lets not forget, pac was letting cotto tee off, this means he saw the punches coming, like the old time saying, "its the punches you dont see coming that really hurts you".

Feeling stronger...increase adrenaline....Maybe. You would have to ask someone that is on steroids and that is a pro boxer or fighter.

I don't know...Tommy Morrison was on steroids and his chin wasn't that good.

Maybe HGH would be the key to making your chin better. Improves bone-mass...skull size/thickness.

Roids allow you to take more punishment in the gym by dulling the pain, I Imagine it works the same way in the ring.

Pacquiao did not feel any of those shots from Cotto and thats why he was surprised to see his own face such a mess after the fight.

That mightve been the case initially but you cant tell me that he purposely let Cotto rock his head and body sideways with a lefthook in rnd 2..Or the lefthook that staggard in him rnd 5...Ppl are acting as if Pac got hit cuz he wanted to be...

wow okay look, why is it harded to knock out a MW than a WW? BEcause a MW's surrounding neck area is biggger, stronger and more durable. When your taking steroids you are getting the same affect. Don't give me all this BS it increases everything besides your chin. Every part of your body is going to be stronger and more durable, including your chin.
