In his previous fight, he KO'd the recognized Jr Welterweight (RING) Champion of the World, Ricky Hatton. And he did it in a manner that no one would have imagined. A brutal second round, one punch KO that left Ricky unconscious, center ring for more than five minutes.

    Simply Amazing.

For Floyd to accomplish such a feat, he'd have to do something similar to this...

Move up and KO Kelly Pavlik in a couple rounds
Then dominate Arthur Abraham and stop him late

    It'll never happen
Mayweather knocked out Hatton 2 years!!!!!!!!!!!! before Pac did it.2 years!!!!!!..and Hatton was undefeated. Just cause Pac knocked him out with one punch doesnt mean his win is greater.......

Just cause Pac turned pro before Mayweather doesnt mean he is greater. His competition early on was very suspect throughout Asia...when Mayweather was dominating champions in the states. Mayweather turned pro in 1996, just a year after Pac turned pro in 1995....Pac didnt fight Lehlohonolo Ledwaba until 2001 and Pacquiao's record was 32-2 <<..........at that time he had 34 pro fights and was Ko'ed twice in that time span. In 1998 he won the flyweight title defended twice then got knocked out by Medgoen Singsurat in his 3rd defense.....

In 1998 Mayweather was 17-0 and knocked out Genaro Hernandez for the super featherweight title .....this was when Pac was over sea's getting knocked out.........

fast forward to 2001 Mayweather was 24-0 & destroys Diego Corrales

you do the Math.....Mayweather was dominating champions in the sport of boxing wayyyyyyyyyyyyy before Pacquiao even stepped foot on US soil...

lets try to be objective fellas!

This fight wil eclipse ANY other fight in history in matter of sales. This is the fight boxing needs and wants. Boxing will be so mainstream if this fight gets made. THE HYPE WOULD BE RIDICULOUS. i meen hell look at us on here. as SOON as Pac beat Cotto the thread has been full of pac/mayweather threads...and still is.
Floyd believes he's the best in the world and he's butthurt when we, the public don't believe him. Manny has now pretty much cemented his status at the undisputed best P4P fighter on the planet. Floyd has lost his edge.

If Floyd wants to convince us that he's the best in the world again, he NEEDs Manny; Manny don't need him. Manny's status as an ATG is secure. Floyd's however is still in question.

BUT if manny chooses not to fight mayweather because floyd is the one who needs pac. Then all your gonna hear is how Pacman dodged mayweather. and you know good and damn well no one wants to hear that or look through 1000 threads about it. So that is why i say its really even on the need.

Mark my word. If manny doesnt fight mayweather his legacy will be hurt, whether it should be or not. By fighting mayweather win or lose he will go down as ATG even though he has done enough to achieve it so far.

All of this though is coming from an American point of view of course. but i promise you america will see it that way if pac doesnt fight mayweather.

money is not the basis to determine how great a fighter is.

some fans would argue it is, but its not.
