Mikkel Kessler (167 lb.), Andre Ward (166.5 lb.) Fit To Fight

By Jake Donovan - There’s nothing left for Mikkel Kessler and Andre Ward to do other than eat, rest and mentally prepare for Saturday night’s super middleweight title fight at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA.

Both fighters easily made weight in anticipation of their headliner, which airs live tomorrow night on American cable giant SHOWTIME (10PM ET/PT).

Kessler weighed in at 167 lb, one pound shy of the super middleweight limit; Ward was slightly lighter at 166.5 lb. [details]

I personally think the judging will be completely legit. Do you think the judging will be completely fair? I know certain things like crowd enthusiasm can sway close rounds even on the fairest card but just curious if you see the judges favoring anyone?

Judges wont matter in this fight cause Kessler will asswhoop Ward and knock him out. Ward is a cool customer and talented, but he will get knocked out. He beat Mirando, verry good, but Kessler i much different than Miranda and a experienced professional. If Ward wins, i will be happy, that would be a great win, but i doubt it. Ward has to improve pretty much to beat Kessler, the question is how much he improved for this fight. But lets face it, he fights against the favourite in this tournament!

Kessler looks like he's gonna spit on him and him a n****r in that last pick.

Didn't know he had that type of mean mug in him .

Kessler looks a little soft in the middle.

Hopefully the California ref Jack Reiss will be fair to Kessler. It isn't easy to win on the road when you have two men in the ring against you.

I remember the Martinez-Cintron fight where the ref 1) called a cut caused by a Cintron headbutt to Martinez caused by a punch 2) later let Cintron convince him, after he was knocked down and counted out, that the punch was caused by a headbutt and 3) deducted a point from Martinez for no good reason, as Cintron ducked into a punch.

Kessler looks healthier in this weigh in than he did against Perdomo IMO, I remember his cheeks looking sunken during that one.

Kessler does not look soft at all. Its just the lighting in that room. He looks ready for war. I hope he gets ward out of there quick.
