By Jake Donovan - Rendall “2 Tone” Munroe overcame a quick start from challenger Simone Maludrottu to box, punch and brawl his way to a well-earned decision win in their 12-round super bantamweight scrap Friday night at the Harvey Hadden Leisure Centre in Nottingham, United Kingdom.
Scores were 116-112 twice and 115-113.
The difference in the fight came down to one guy preparing for a race, the other training for a marathon. Maludrottu (121 ¼, Olbia, Italy) charged out to an early lead in an effort to make an immediate statement on the road. Munroe struggled to settle into a groove over the course of the first half of the contest, resulting in his falling considerably behind on the cards. [details]
