Can we stop saying "fighter X doesn't have the power to keep fighter Y off him"?

This is kinda like the NBA thing where they talk about a guy being too short. That same guy ends up being great and they ask him how do you compete with these huge guys and he says "Ive been short all my life". Get it. Its nothing new to these guys. They obvisously know at this point how to win without the things that they arent super at.

u dont always need power to keep a guy off u. skill, speed, quick reflexes, timing, accurate punching, good foot work, etc........ also works

a jab, footwork, smart defense and ring generalship isn't enough to stop a relentless tenacious fighter... you have to have enough pop to back up your opponent... otherwise you could say malignaggi was keeping off hatton, diaz, etc... and that's ******.

Not to get side-tracked, but Ali allowed/forced Foreman to tire out before he went to work.

i'm no boxing historian but the term "doesn't have the power to keep him off him" has probably been proven right more times than wrong.

maybe in some of the biggest fights it hasn't been proven right but those were great fighters.

floyd might be able to keep pac off him without power but that's because floyd is a great fighter.

you take 2 average boxers , the aggressive one with power and the other trying to box but with no power and more than likely the guy trying to box will "not have enough power to keep the other guy off of him."

yup. ali also took a lot of punishment.

not very many guys would have been able to allow a prime george foreman to maul them like that.

in ali's book , he even said he was out on his feet at one time after taking a shot from george.
