NB! If there was to happen a miracle and someone exciting like a new Mike Tyson, came along, then i would be rooting for him to beat the Europeans. Although i think we may have something like that in David Haye ? In shape, EXCITING, HEAVY hands, charismatic, but he's from Great Britain and that doesn't cope well with the Americans?
I am American and I like the K2 reigning. I do understand why a lot of people do not like them but a lot of why it seems that Americans don't like them is because overall, Boxing is not a mainstream sport! Nobody knows who they are and thats because nobody has ever seen or heard of them before! We as Americans are lazy and unless something is put right in our faces, we have no interest. Look at popular music and how ****ty it is, its the same thing. Boxing needs to take a page out of the UFC and get Boxing on TV all the time. De la hoya and King and Arum have the money to do it too! They are just too damn greedy. They need to do what's best for the sport and start a Boxing channel and get Boxing on other channels too...

haha...I know you don't know any better but I could probably go to every sports bar in town and not a single person would know who Kevin Johnson is. The heavyweight division in boxing is like #58 on the list of what Americans care about in sports.

I personally could care less. I'm not a big fan of their styles but they deserve to be on top so it's not like I have a problem with it. It would be nice if there were some exciting fighters in the division who could actually make things interesting. Besides, there's so many great divisions that produce excellent fights that there's no need to get caught up on the heavyweight division.

I don't like them because I find them incredibly boring. They're just so much better than everyone else that they are their fights aren't competitive. I don't wanna see someone beating shorter fat guys for 8 rounds without receiving anything in return.

I think I'd actually prefer the devision to be weaker (i.e them not being in it) but with more equal championships fights where the outcome isn't already known before the first round bell.

Americans like things when they are winning. The Klitschkos have been on top of the HW division for this decade, so many Americans have lost interest. Same thing has happened in tennis: when McEnroe, Connors, and Agassi were on top, tennis was a mainstream sport in the USA. Now, with foreigners like Federer and Nadal on top, tennis in the USA is a "niche sport" like boxing has become. Bottom line: the world has changed, and America is never going to dominate the way it once did in a lot of these sports that East Europeans, for instance, couldn't participate in. The Klitschkos make between 9-12 MILLION Euros per fight, are admired sportsmen world-wide, and while they would like America to like them, I doubt they lose any sleep over it. It's America that is behind the times, not the rest of the world. When the Klitschkos are gone and all you have are dumb, fat slobs competing for the HW belts, this will seem like a golden era in comparison. The Klitschkos will be remembered as classy champions who took their sport seriously and always showed up in shape.

Faulting them for the mediocrity of their opposition is nothing new. Joe Louis took the same criticism ("Bum of the month club"). Rocky Marciano was accused of fighting old men and tomato cans. Larry Holmes got the same thing as well. So the Klitschkos are in good company. In historical terms, they are going to be known as the men who dominated the 2000s in the HW division. They beat most of who was put in front of them. They have great KO %s. The numbers are all on their side.

Wlad wasn't like that under Fritz Sdunek, who still trains Vitali. Manny made Wlad into another Lewis, who was also called boring all the time. Now that Wlad has absorbed Manny's defensive lessons, should he go back to Fritz?
