I don't think Joe Calzaghe is being a hypocrite. He's being honest. He didn't have any interest in facing the best so he retired. Mayweather isn't interested in facing the best and he wants to waste our time.

Calzaghe DID face the best.

He faced Kessler who was the highest ranked SMW, other than Joe. So was Lacy, it's not Joe's fault he was an overrated hype-job.

Then Joe went up in weight to face Hopkins who was the best LHW.

funny how some fans talk **** about Calzaghe, then turn around and actually give a **** about what Hopkins or RJJ are doing at the moment. i think most of us have learned by now that european fighters are for real. Even if Joe came back and defeated Dawson, i doubt these critics would even give him any credit. there would be someone else that he NEEDS to fight before exiting.

I wouldn't say European fighters are real. I think most of them are hype jobs. But Calzaghe was a stud. The Klits are monsters. I'll give props to Kesseler and Abrahams too. Not much else though.

I like Calzaghe alot. He beat both Roy and Bernard. Just don't tell me he could have beaten Roy between 1988-2003. While Calzaghe was having some hard fights at the same weight, Roy was dominating every champion he fought from 160-heavyweight. Don't tell me Joe could mess with him then, thats ******.
