    Miguel Cotto

When an Elite fighter or an "A" class fighter, loses a couple of matches. He should take it down a notch to rebuild his momentum and regain control.

Take Cotto for example. Cotto was on his way up the ladder before he met Margarito. We all know that. He retained the WBO belt after fighting Sugar Shane Mosley, and Knocked Zab Judah for his resume. After the mental and physical beat down from Margarito, Cotto started to rebuild himself again. He fought Michael Jennings, who was a champion in the UK. Then went up against Joshua Clottey in a controversial decision. In both fights he sustained two deep cuts.

I think Cotto should have met with someone in the same class as Clottey, before stepping it up again. He was fresh meat for Pacquiao. Cotto gave Pacquiao too much respect. Aside from the critics, i think Cotto did his best surviving against Pacquiao. I mean, Pacquiao's decent, but i think Cotto should have had one or two more fights before stepping in the ring with "The Destroyer."

I like Cotto; I'd call myself a fan. I enjoy his style and his professionalism. i just hope it won't be too hard for Miguel to get back in the ring.

Miguel Cotto is easily discouraged when he sees a fighter is taking his best shots.

He starts throwing one shot at a time and running around the ring.

He'll never be a top dog in boxing.

      Cotto is like Cintron........

If an opponent takes his best punches he has no plan b..he runs around the ring.

      Hes done.

Why can't you just say he was beaten by the better man? I mean would a couple of tune up fights really made a difference? You make it sound as if it would have and I think no amount of tune up fights in the world could have prepared him for Pacman.

Sometimes you just get beat, it's that simple. All these threads about what if's and could if's and wha he should have done are all BS.

Bottom line is, Cotto lost to a much, much better fighter. It happens......

Cotto is still a very good WW just not elite the way most thought. He can't beat Pacman, Margarito or P. Williams. It's ok though because he's had a great career and still some very good fights in front of him.

That's kinda stretchin it there bud. Cintron is leagues below Cotto.

I'm not a huge Cotto fan, but I got tons of respect for dude. So he lost a couple fights, so what? The guy's an entertaining fighter and always comes to fight no matter the opposition. What more else can you ask for?

Him losing to Pacquiao is nothing to be ashamed of and with Margarito...you draw your own conclusion.

cotto needs a real trainer, someone with more boxing knowledge than him and someone that cotto respects and will listen to.

anything short of that and you can expect cotto to get beat up by the next tough as nalls pressure fighter.

Cotto wouldn't have beaten pac even if he had 10 tune-ups, he lost to an all time great, theres no shame in that, but dont worry, he can still beat alot of the tops fighters in the division, just not pacman lol

I mean, you're not in the ring bro, easier said than done.

Pacquiao admitted Cotto hit hard as **** but wasn't trying to show Cotto any signs of it (i.e. Ring smarts). Cotto made mistakes in the fight, but sayin he's done is just ****** man. Only people who've been following Boxing for a couple years would say that.

How many people said Mosley was done after losing to Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright? RIP Vernon, but look where Shane is now and look where Winky is now. Give it some time, Cotto's going to fight again.
