Vinny came out fighting. I remember him throwing hay-makers in the beginning of the first two rounds. Thereafter, Roy had him discouraged and just took/picked him apart.

RJJ is nothing without speed and reflexes and that is the first thing a fighter losses with age. It's suprising he still had it in his mid thirties.

        I agree, Ivansmamma.

Roy was all about the speed, reflexes and conditioning...but now they're gone there's nothing.

Sugar Ray Robinson lost his speed and reflexes whilst he was a middleweight...but Ray had superb in-fighting and a rock chin to fall back on...Roy does not have this.

He's not just gonna change by hiring the best trainer out there, with what he has conditioned himself to do for 20 plus years.
Roy doens't need to change his boxing style, he needs to change his profession, he just simply doesn't have it anymore. The doubt is written all over his face...But!!!!!!!!! I think that if he was to rededicate his self to the sport and do all the things you mentioned that he doesn't do we would be unbeatable at any weight...

I think it's too late to change what he's done effortlessly for over 20 years.

Everybody agrees that Roy's reflexes are reduced, but this is not always The End for a first-tier fighter. However, Roy has also lost his legs, which means he's a target now for even those light-hitting guys.

Roy's defense has always been very simple ... don't get hit a lot. But, he's now getting hit a lot, and his brain will not recover from these two KO's.

Roy Jones Junior is DONE. He's now a hittable guy with a tender head. Roy won't take chances, which means trying to be defensive without good legs. That's a bad combination for any fighter, including the Great Late RJJ.

The thing i loved about Roy was that his style was individual and natural to him. Roy has always fought his own way and nobody elses way, his trainers could never get him to change how he fights because that is how is has been comfortable over the years and his record speaks for itself in that department. Once a style and a certain way of fighting is grounded into a fighters mind it's hard to learn any different.

It's just too bad he never fought the best in his divisions while he was at his prime.
